We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of our manufacturing accounting operations in Myanmar. This role is ideal for finance professionals who enjoy working closely with factory operations, driving cost optimization, and leading teams in a dynamic international environment.
As a key finance leader, you will partner with plant management and regional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cost management while supporting business growth in Myanmar.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Accounting Management
- Manage all accounting activities for the manufacturing plant.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
- Prepare financial reports and management reports for local management and headquarters.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Lead factory cost accounting processes including material, labor, and overhead costing.
- Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability to support operational decision-making.
- Monitor inventory valuation and manufacturing performance indicators.
- Drive cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory and tax regulations.
- Coordinate and manage annual external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, and government authorities as required.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the local accounting team.
- Build strong financial discipline and accounting capabilities within the organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Business Partnership
- Work closely with Plant Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance teams.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CPD, or equivalent professional qualifications are an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in factory cost accounting and cost control.
- Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams.
- Good understanding of financial reporting, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar platforms preferred).
- Good command of English for business communication and reporting.
- Willingness to relocate and work in Myanmar.
