Role Description
We are looking to engage an Advisor, Geo-Economics & Investment Strategy to support a pipeline of upcoming and in-development projects. This is a remote, consultancy-based role with flexible working arrangements, with engagement activated upon project confirmation. The role sits at the core of our advisory offering – bridging geopolitical insight and capital deployment, and supporting clients in making informed, strategic decisions across frontier and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities
Geo-economic analysis
• Analyse geopolitical developments and assess implications for capital flows, investment climates, and market access
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities across key regions and sectors
Investment strategy & advisory
• Support the structuring of market entry and investment strategies in complex political environments
• Translate political and regulatory dynamics into commercially viable opportunities
Investor engagement
• Engage with institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms and DFIs
• Support development of investment narratives, risk frameworks, and positioning strategies
Cross-border opportunity development
• Support initiatives linking governments and investors (e.g. infrastructure, energy, reconstruction, economic development)
• Assist in shaping and presenting opportunities to investors and strategic partners
Strategic briefings & advisory
• Produce high-quality written and verbal briefings for decision-makers
• Support client engagements with clear, actionable, and commercially grounded insights
Candidate Profile
We are seeking individuals with a strong combination of geopolitical insight, commercial acumen, and emerging markets experience, capable of operating at the intersection of policy, capital, and strategic execution. The ideal candidate is able to translate complex political and economic dynamics into clear, investment-relevant insights, and engage confidently with both government and investor audiences.
Experience & Qualifications
• 7–12+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
• investment advisory
• private equity or infrastructure investment
• development finance (e.g. IFC, EBRD, World Bank Group)
• geopolitical risk or strategic advisory
• Demonstrated experience working in or across emerging and frontier markets, with a strong understanding of political, regulatory, and operational realities
• Proven ability to analyse geopolitical and macroeconomic developments and assess their implications for:
• capital flows
• investment environments
• market access and risk
• Experience supporting or advising on cross-border investments, market entry strategies, or government-facing engagements
• Master’s degree in International Political Economy, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field is highly desirable

Languages
• Fluency in English is required
• Fluency in Arabic, Russian, and/or French is a strong asset
Preferred Profile
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following will be particularly well suited:
• Experience within development finance institutions (IFC, EBRD, AfDB, etc.)
• Background in private equity, infrastructure investment, or sovereign investment platforms
• Exposure to energy, infrastructure, or critical resources sectors
• Experience working in fragile, post-conflict, or politically complex environments
• Demonstrated involvement in investment structuring, capital raising, or cross-border transactions
Location & Engagement
• Fully remote with flexible working arrangements
• Candidates with experience or networks in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, or Asia are strongly encouraged
