ABOUT THE TEAM

The Strategic Communications and Global Government Affairs (SCGGA) team helps PSP Investments understand, anticipate and respond to public policy, stakeholder and government developments that may affect PSP’s mandate, governance, investments and reputation. The team supports PSP’s relationships with federal, provincial and international stakeholders and provides insight, advice and coordinated engagement across PSP’s global investor footprint.

Within this team, the Global Government Affairs (Canada) function leads domestic government relations, parliamentary monitoring, policy intelligence and stakeholder engagement in Canada, while supporting PSP’s statutory obligations and engagement with responsible ministers and public-sector stakeholders.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Advisor, Global Government Affairs (Canada), you will support the Director, Global Government Affairs (Canada), and the Senior Director, Global Government Affairs and Stakeholder Management, in advancing PSP’s domestic government relations strategy. You will play a hands-on role in monitoring parliamentary and provincial developments, coordinating responses to formal government requests, developing policy intelligence products, and strengthening PSP’s approach to stakeholder engagement tracking.

In this role, you will:

As an Advisor, Global Government Affairs, you’ll:

  • Support the Director on domestic government affairs strategy by contributing to the implementation and ongoing refinement of PSP’s domestic government affairs priorities, stakeholder mapping and engagement plans

  • Coordinate key domestic government relations processes by supporting responses to formal requests from responsible ministers, central agencies and other government bodies, ensuring alignment, accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness

  • Monitor and analyze policy developments across federal and provincial governments, with a focus on legislative, regulatory and political developments that may impact PSP’s mandate, governance, reputation, stakeholder environment or investment activities

  • Support provincial government affairs by contributing to jurisdiction-specific policy monitoring and analysis, stakeholder mapping and engagement activities

  • Prepare policy and briefing materials by drafting briefing notes, policy memos, Q&As, internal updates and other materials that translate government developments into practical insights for senior leaders, investment teams and corporate functions

  • Contribute to government affairs knowledge management by helping build, organize and maintain tools and resources such as policy libraries, stakeholder intelligence, jurisdictional files and recurring government affairs updates

  • Support key domestic engagement projects by assisting the Director with planning and coordination related to PSP’s statutory obligations, public-facing reporting and events, as well as other important government or stakeholder engagement milestones

  • Collaborate with internal partners by working with PSP teams to support domestic government affairs initiatives, ensure alignment and contribute to effective stakeholder engagement

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, public administration, law, international relations, communications, business or a related field
