Position: Advisor for Governance Policies in Alberta
Lead the charge in municipal governance as the Advisor for Governance Policies with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. This role is essential for ensuring effective policy management.
In this position located in Fort McMurray, you will support the Mayor and Council while managing policy and governance documents. Your insights will also help in the overall administration of the FOIP program. The Advisor should possess strong communication skills and relevant experience in the public sector, fostering collaboration and transparency in governance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on policy and governance document innovations
• Implement governance strategies and improvements
• Ensure compliance with the FOIP Act and policies
• Maintain accurate records of governance documents
• Assist in departmental service delivery and expansion
Requirements:
• Five years of experience with diploma or three years with degree
• Background in municipal government and public administration
• Effective presentation and communication skills
• Sensitivity to public and political environments
• Required Criminal Record Check and Driver License
