Position: Advocacy Role Against Extreme Poverty
Join Results Canada in Vancouver as an Advocate to end Extreme Poverty. This impactful role involves engaging with community members and influencing government policy for lasting change.
As a passionate advocate, you will help mobilize everyday people to create political will focused on global health, education access, and economic opportunities. Your commitment of 1-2 hours per week for at least one year will involve collaborating virtually with local groups and engaging with decision makers such as Members of Parliament and party leaders. You will utilize social media and write letters to the editor to raise awareness of extreme poverty issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mobilize volunteers to influence government decision-makers
• Support local advocacy groups through guidance and meetings
• Engage in writing LTEs and op-eds to raise awareness
• Participate in virtual calls and webinars with Results staff
• Foster relationships with political leaders to improve policies
Requirements:
• Commitment of 1-2 hours weekly for one year
• Passion for global health and education issues
• Experience in advocacy or willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively in virtual settings
• Active engagement in social media and community outreach
