I am seeking an APS5 Executive Assistant to join the team for a 9-week contract, full-time in the office based in Sydney CBD. You’ll be joining a respected Australian Federal Government agency that plays a key role in improving health outcomes for the community. The organisation works collaboratively across the sector, values meaningful partnerships, and supports a positive, high‑performance culture.
Your new role
As the APS5 Executive Assistant, you’ll provide proactive, high‑level support to two Branch Heads and assist broader branch teams. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll help keep operations running smoothly and ensure leaders are supported day‑to‑day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing diaries, meetings, travel and inbox coordination
- Preparing documents, presentations, meeting papers and briefing materials
- Coordinating meetings, events and branch activities
- Providing general office management and administrative support
- Liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with project coordination and tracking key milestones
- Supporting the wider EA coordination team during peak periods
- Suggesting and implementing process improvements
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll enjoy this role if you’re organised, proactive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
Key requirements:
- Strong administrative and EA experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines with accuracy
- Professional, reliable and adaptable approach
- Strong document preparation and formatting skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience in government or similar structured areas.
- Australian Citizens only.
- Willingness to undergo pre‑employment checks (and obtain Baseline clearance if required)
What you'll get in return
- 9 week Labour Hire Contract.
- Full time in the office is essential.
- Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours a week.
- Usually around a 8am start – 7.5 hours a day.
- $57–$62 per hour plus super.
