Position: City Archivist at Community Archives
Location: Greater Sudbury
Join the City of Greater Sudbury as a City Archivist at the Community Archives in Falconbridge. This limited position focuses on managing municipal archival records while delivering quality customer service.
In this role, you will report to the Manager of Clerk’s Services and be vital in developing and maintaining the Municipal/Community archives. Your responsibilities will include cataloguing, preservation, and public interaction to enhance archival accessibility. Building relationships with community stakeholders and performing outreach programs will be central to your work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and operate Municipal/Community archives
• Ensure safekeeping and preservation of archival records
• Facilitate supervised access for researchers and the public
• Organize public relations events and community outreach
• Maintain partnerships with local interest groups
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Archival Studies
• 2½ to 5 years of related experience
• Knowledge of archival operations and systems
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
