Location: Office-Based with options to work from home

Salary: £29,480 – £33,350 (subject to experience) plus excellent benefits

Due to the growth of our Infrastructure Team and our Mobility Team, we are recruiting two Assistant Consultants to deliver projects in sustainable energy and transport.

These roles, which report to our experienced Consultants, will be principally responsible for:

Project Delivery

  • Working with clients, sponsors and partners to help advance their policies, strategies, implementation plans to catalyse sustainable transport.
  • Supporting a team of expert consultants delivering work to public, private and third sector clients.
  • Contributing to projects breaking new ground in the arena of sustainable transport.

 

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Providing written content, commercial analysis and technical evaluations for the preparation of reports.
  • Supporting quantitative, qualitative, cost/benefit and techno market analyses to feed into projects across the business.
  • Supporting a wide range of stakeholder consultation and dissemination activities.

Supporting the Team

·        Supporting the development and maintenance of team capabilities and services.

We are looking for someone who can make an immediate contribution, so it is likely that you possess the following qualifications:

Essential:

·        Holds a relevant degree (e.g. Geography, STEM, Environmental social and/or political science)

·       Ability to balance and manage the delivery of a portfolio of activity, often with competing deadlines.

·        Strong analytical skills.

·        Excellent communication, organising and influencing skills, including being able to present technically challenging data in verbal and written form.

·        Stakeholder management skills.

·        Ability to work and travel flexibly in UK, mainland Europe and/or Globally.

 

Desirable:

·        Masters level or above in a relevant subject.

·        Project management qualification (ideally APM or Prince 2).

·        Technical or project experience in relevant topics.

·        Experience of zero emission transport policies, strategies and implementation plans.

·        Previous experience in a transport-related consultancy or research role.

·        Experience in working in or supporting local government.

·        Experience with GIS systems.

·        Experience of industrial research within UK or European Union funded projects.

·        International experience
