Associate Director, Alliance Development and Patient Advocacy Jobs in Washington, USA at Organon & Co.

** Job Description*
* The Associate Director, Alliance Development and Patient Advocacy will report to the Head of US Government Affairs, working closely with the US Federal and State teams, as well as the Global Team. The Associate Director will be the main point of contact for managing key issue advocacy, alliance, and policy partnerships inside the US and be actively engaged with Organon’s US alliance development and patient advocacy activities with external advocacy organizations in alignment with US Government Affairs policy priorities.

This position is responsible for delivering key advocacy activities, projects, management and analysis on behalf of the US Government Affairs & Policy Team, as defined, and supporting critical presentations and executive engagements. Additionally, this position is responsible for setting the strategic direction of alliance development partnerships, along with supporting the strategic direction of the company’s Political Action Committee (PAC) and executing on these strategies in a cross-functional manner.

The position requires a creative, highly motivated, relationship-driven, team-oriented candidate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and a developing expertise in policy and government affairs. This is a hybrid position reporting to the Washington, DC office.

** Responsibilities*
* + Lead efforts on state and federal strategic policy issues, including initiating, building, and maintaining relationships with patient groups, alliances, and coalitions that further policy objectives and patient issues.

+ Coordinate with external patient advocacy and alliance development contacts to support their policy and advocacy initiatives, ensuring sustainable partner relationships and maintaining corporate council memberships to broaden the Company’s leadership in priority policy areas.

+ Serve as the main point of contact for external patient advocacy partnerships, alliance development objectives, and coalition development activities.

+ Collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams within Organon to drive strategy and execution of these external advocacy efforts, including policy seminars, round tables, social media campaigns, Congressional engagements, and senior leadership spotlights.

+ Manage all aspects of external patient advocacy and alliance development engagement, including conducting research to prepare for meetings, briefings, and working groups.

+ Represent Organon at key meetings and staff senior leadership at key functions.

+ Maintain and oversee financial management for advocacy and alliance activities from both the US Government Affairs budget and relevant franchise budgets.

+ Lead alliance development through sponsorship, grant, and membership management, actively supporting external partners and internal budget requirements.

+ Support strategy and content, along with other members of the team, for donor engagement programs to build awareness of and support for our Company’s PAC.

+ Provide updates on issue advocacy and alliance development activities to senior management; create and deliver presentations for the PAC Board and related meetings as required.

** Required Education, Experience and Skills*
* + Bachelor’s degree.

+ Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

+ Excellent writing and communications skills.

+ Candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks, work under deadlines and collaborate across functions and with external stakeholders.

+ Previous experience working with the advocacy community on furthering health policy objectives.

+ Minimum three years of political, trade association or legislative experience preferred (prior PAC management experience a plus).

+ Expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technologies required.

+  _Additional qualifications to consider:_

+ Master’s degree in public policy/public administration/etc.

+ Six plus years of related experience

+ Ability to build and maintain key relationships

+ Excellent interpersonal and senior level stakeholder management skills

+ Broad working knowledge of Congress and the relevant policy landscape

+ Relevant issue advocacy experience in women’s health, biosimilars, dermatology

+ Innovative strategic thinking skills

+ Cross-functional fluency and willingness to be a cross-functional partner

+ 20% domestic travel potentially required
