Role Description
CJ Associates is creating this new role to strengthen and expand our Stakeholder Engagement capability. We are seeking an experienced and motivated practitioner who can bring proven expertise, leadership, and a wide network of professional contacts into the business. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping this service line, leading delivery across high-profile infrastructure projects, and supporting CJ Associates’ continued growth. They will help strengthen our market position, enhance our reputation for high-quality stakeholder engagement, and use their established relationships to create new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Role Requirements
- Nurture and extend current client relationships and proactively leverage your existing networks, clients and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities, partnerships and sector collaborations.
- Advise clients on best‑practice engagement approaches aligned with UK planning requirements, DCO processes, and sector expectations.
- Lead and line-manage project teams to ensure that high quality services are consistently delivered to clients.
- Support the team to plan, deliver and evaluate stakeholder engagement and public consultation activities for infrastructure development projects.
- Produce clear, high‑quality engagement materials, including briefings, presentations, consultation documents, and impact summaries.
- Analyse feedback from consultations and prepare robust, evidence‑based reports for clients and project teams.
- Ensure the team maintains accurate records, project documentation and compliance with internal quality and data‑protection standards.
Expected Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience of delivering stakeholder engagement and consultation at a senior level on high-profile major infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of the UK political and policy environment, including local authority governance structures, decision-making processes, and the role of elected representatives in infrastructure and planning
- Experience of new developing new business including, building relationships with potential new clients and supporting the delivery of tenders and proposals.
- An understanding and practiced ability to establish and deliver work plans within a project environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Excellent report writing skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Line management experience and leadership skills
- An interest in developing professional qualifications and accreditation.
- Be a self-motivated individual with excellent analytical skills.
- Have an inquisitive mind with the confidence to check and challenge.
