JOB SUMMARY

Evaluate financial analysis, valuation, sector research, and company research on portfolio companies, and advise on active co-ownership & engagement (ACE) activities and Value Creation Plan (VCP) development, to recommend improvements that contribute to total shareholder return (TSR) improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as sector specialist to advise on financial analysis, valuation, and performance assessment on assigned companies.
  • Advise company performance and sector positioning, interpreting financial results, governance practices, market dynamics, regulatory developments, competitive positioning and capital allocation to inform engagement priorities and recommend follow-up actions to the team lead.
  • Evaluate financial models and valuation analyses to ensure quality and defensibility, advising on appropriate analytical approaches for non-routine issues.
  • Validate company-specific strategic, governance, and ESG considerations, recommending appropriate engagement approaches to support effective portfolio company engagement, in addition to engaging at working level with portfolio company management through company visits and broker-arranged sessions, with increasing direct exposure under guidance.
  • Assist in assessment and monitoring for VCP initiatives across assigned companies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pass in Bahasa Melayu, including the oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACCA, ICAEW, etc are an added advantage
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in financial analysis, equity research, investment management, or corporate finance
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and company performance
  • Experience in due diligence or VCP-related work is an added advantage
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Skilled in writing and presentations
