Job Purpose: Line Manager – Backup Fertilizer and Mineral Operations is responsible for the comprehensive management of preplanning, execution, and backup operations for vessel handling of fertilizer and mineral cargo. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders to meet performance standards, reviewing operations, preparing budgets, developing new processes, and overseeing the import and export of cargo from storage to designated areas.

Responsibilities

Vessel Operation Preplanning:

Develop comprehensive plans for stevedoring, backup handling, storage, and resource allocation based on cargo volume. Gather vessel details, stowage plans, and cargo grades to prepare for operations.

Operational Oversight

Oversee vessel operations, ensuring the availability of resources for cargo handling, monitoring loading rates, and storing cargo in allocated areas.

Safety Compliance

Ensure the implementation of safety protocols in port operations among employees and subcontractors, maintaining a secure working environment.

Resource Management

Plan resources for the timely loading and unloading of road and rake mineral cargo within specified timeframes.

Budget Control

Execute operations within budgeted costs, maintaining financial efficiency throughout the loading process.

Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain effective communication and coordination with client representatives, transporters, and internal teams for seamless operations.

Quality Assurance

Oversee the quality and quantity of cargo during arrival and dispatches, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Storage And Yard Management

Manage vessel backup storage planning and yard allocation based on cargo nature and requirements.

Transportation Coordination

Define routes and manage transportation for export and import cargo to and from the jetty.

Operational Monitoring

Monitor operations to ensure correct loading in view of the center of gravity as per cargo density.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain the upkeep of the facility and records, ensuring that all operational documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Digital Mindset

Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
