Maltese Aged Care Association (SA) Inc is an organisation committed to providing tailored aged care services in South Australia. We provide services in three main areas; food production and delivery, transport of our members to events, and respite services.
We have recently moved to new premises in Ridleyton, with a larger and more advanced kitchen, and our own hall to run events. This exciting new growth opens up new opportunities for delivering new services to the community and generating new revenue streams.
Role Description
This is a volunteer role based in Adelaide, SA for a Board Member position. The Board Member will assist in overseeing the strategic and operational direction of the organisation, ensuring it aligns with the mission to support the community. Responsibilities include participating in monthly board meetings, contributing to policy development, providing governance and oversight, and supporting decisions to ensure sustainable operations and further growth.
With our new premises, our strategy is to grow additional revenue streams to foster stronger community engagement. We are commencing a new Commercial Enterprise for food delivery outside of government funding.
We would love it if you had;
- Any leadership and governance experience, such as strategic planning and decision-making
- Skills in financial oversight, budgeting, or fundraising
- Familiarity with aged care services or knowledge of the health or community services sector
- Exposure to CHSP or Support at Home or My Aged Care
- An ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Business Development skills to find and build new revenue streams or services
- Previous experience in a non-profit or volunteer-based role is highly desirable
