Job Details

The successful Business Analysts will support a central ICT delivery function responsible for a broad portfolio of digital, data, and emerging technology initiatives.

Operating within a structured government environment, you will work across complex ICT projects including AI-enabled solutions, digital platforms, and enterprise systems. These roles require strong delivery capability, not just documentation — you will be expected to engage stakeholders, drive clarity in requirements, and translate business needs into actionable outputs for technical teams.

You will work within Agile delivery teams and contribute to projects with competing priorities, requiring strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse current and future business processes, information flows, and data requirements
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions to elicit and validate requirements
  • Develop structured artefacts including:
  • Business requirements specifications
  • Functional and non-functional requirements
  • User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Process maps and service design artefacts
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements align with solution design
  • Evaluate solution options and provide recommendations considering enterprise-wide impacts
  • Support Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement and sprint processes
  • Conduct research and analysis aligned with departmental policies and system constraints
  • Contribute to reporting, communication, and change management activities

Essential Criteria

  • Experience facilitating workshops and developing business scenarios, process maps, data models, and use cases
  • Experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams
  • Experience working on complex digital or ICT projects in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience implementing Information Technology services
  • Experience documenting requirements for Office technologies
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for user story creation and tracking acceptance criteria
  • Experience or knowledge of Dynamics 365 or Power Platform

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a current Baseline security clearance at commencement (mandatory)
  • Must provide a one-page pitch (maximum 5000 characters) addressing all criteria
