About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Management Office on a temporary basis, with an expected duration of up to 26 weeks. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to NASA’s deep space exploration missions by developing and delivering advanced business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in data analysis, visualization, and automation to support decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency. The Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to design dynamic dashboards, automate reporting processes, and ensure data integrity across multiple systems. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related areas
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and Paginated Reports
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VBA, Power Query, and Named Tables
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for writing optimized queries across large datasets (minimum 1 year)
  • Experience with MS SSRS report development and maintenance (minimum 1 year)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem-solve and recommend effective solutions in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to develop insightful visualizations and reports, with sample PBIX files demonstrating proficiency
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, with the ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver innovative business intelligence solutions, including Power BI dashboards tailored for NASA stakeholders
  • Create dynamic mechanisms enabling users to override data or add variables to existing datasets
  • Design interactive components within reports to allow user input and data manipulation
  • Promote and implement tool automation to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet operational needs
  • Leverage various tools such as Visual Analytics, SQL, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Visio to automate business processes
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across all reporting systems
  • Coordinate with database stakeholders to optimize data flows and reporting efficiencies
  • Work across multiple databases and systems to identify relevant data and generate reports
  • Perform additional duties related to data analysis, visualization, and reporting as required
