Overview
We are looking for a skilled SC Business Analyst to support delivery within a UK Government digital programme, working across large and complex problem spaces.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping early-stage delivery, particularly within Discovery and Alpha phases, helping teams to deeply understand business challenges and user needs. You will work closely with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to define problems, map processes, and ensure alignment with wider departmental strategies.
This position requires a confident and proactive Business Analyst who can lead workshops, facilitate discussions, and translate complex business problems into clear, structured insights that drive effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead workshops, stakeholder interviews, and focus groups to gather insights and define business problems
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle, with a focus on Discovery and Alpha
- Analyse and map business processes to an appropriate level of detail
- Ensure business needs and problem statements are clearly understood and communicated
- Build strong relationships with both business and technical stakeholders
- Translate complex requirements into structured outputs that support delivery teams
- Provide clarity on how product and problem spaces align with wider organisational strategy and objectives
- Support teams in shaping early-stage solutions and defining the right direction of travel
Key Skills & Experience
✔ Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within complex, large-scale environments
✔ Strong experience leading workshops, interviews, and focus groups
✔ Excellent stakeholder communication skills across both business and technical audiences
✔ Experience mapping business processes and articulating how they link to strategic objectives
✔ Background working within multidisciplinary teams across the delivery lifecycle
✔ Experience contributing to Discovery and Alpha phase delivery
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within UK Government or public sector environments
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
- Understanding of user-centered design principles
- Experience working on large, complex problem domains
