Job Summary:
The primary mandate of this role is to strengthen and support the risk and controls environment within the Capital Markets, Technology & Operations (CM T&O) group. While the broader team manages multiple functions including Issue and Audit Management, this position is specifically focused on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Management.
The incumbent will act as the CM T&O Business Continuity Coordinator, ensuring that all BCPs are accurate, up-to-date, compliant with enterprise standards, and effectively tested.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) testing plans to validate recovery strategies (includes weekend work as required)
- Conduct notification testing to ensure availability of personnel across designated communication devices
- Facilitate BCP walkthrough testing to validate plan accuracy and readiness
- Oversee alternate work area testing, including contingency site validation as outlined in BCPs
- Provide audit support during internal and external reviews by supplying necessary documentation related to BCP controls and compliance requirements
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews to ensure all continuity plans adhere to enterprise standards and best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in Business Continuity Planning and understanding of key risk management concepts
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand broader strategic objectives
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in banking or financial institutions
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
