We are currently supporting governments and strategic partners across Africa in the development of digital carbon market infrastructure, including national carbon registry initiatives and broader sustainability-focused digital systems. As part of our continued growth and expanding international partnerships, we are strengthening our commercial and partnership efforts across the region to support long-term collaboration, government engagement, and market expansion.

Our Needs

We are seeking a Business Development Associate to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in supporting A6 Labs’ expansion across Africa, helping build relationships with governments, strategic partners, and organisations operating within carbon markets, sustainability, and digital infrastructure.

This is a highly international and travel-focused role. Approximately 80% of time will be dedicated to work across Africa, including regular travel to different countries for meetings, relationship management, workshops, and commercial discussions. We are looking for someone who is open-minded, adaptable, culturally aware, and highly willing to travel frequently for work.

You will work closely with leadership on business development initiatives, partnership opportunities, and strategic engagement across both public and private sectors. This role requires someone proactive, confident in professional environments, and comfortable operating in fast-paced and evolving markets.

We’re looking for candidates who are proactive, open-minded, and highly willing to travel frequently across Africa as part of the role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in different environments and cultures, building relationships internationally, and representing the company across a range of meetings, partnerships, and business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with governments, strategic partners, and stakeholders across Africa
  • Travel frequently across African countries to support business development and partnership activities
  • Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities and regional partnerships
  • Represent the company in meetings, workshops, conferences, and industry events
  • Support expansion efforts into new markets and jurisdictions across Africa
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support ongoing projects, proposals, and partnership discussions
  • Assist in preparing presentations, commercial materials, and strategic documents
  • Maintain regular communication with partners and support long-term relationship management
  • Support leadership with regional engagement, coordination, and commercial strategy initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, account management, or a related role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and comfortable working across different cultures and environments
  • Highly willing and able to travel frequently across Africa for work
  • Confident representing the company in professional and international settings
  • Strong organisational and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage opportunities and follow-ups
  • Experience working across Africa or with international organisations is preferred but not essential
  • Interest in technology, infrastructure, sustainability, or government-related projects is advantageous
  • Experience working with governments, carbon markets, sustainability initiatives would be advantageous
  • Valid passport and ability to travel regularly for extended periods when required
