What We're Looking For
DATAMARK Technologies is seeking a Business Development Director, Carrier Services to join our growing DATAMARK practice. In this role, you will lead business development efforts targeting telecommunications providers — wireline, rural, and local telephone carriers — driving adoption of DATAMARK's Location Information Server (LIS) solution that enables carriers to meet FCC-mandated Next Generation 911 (NG911) compliance requirements. This is a wide-open market opportunity with a proven product and a committed leadership team ready to support your success. This is a fully remote work schedule supporting the United States. This position requires regular travel to carrier markets, conferences, and client locations; candidates must be located within reasonable access of a major metropolitan airport. No sponsorship is provided for this role; all candidates must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States without restrictions indefinitely.
What You'll Do
- Drive carrier-focused business development across wireline, rural broadband, and local telephone provider markets, advancing deals through the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
- Leverage existing carrier industry relationships to open executive and operational doors within target accounts, delivering qualified meeting opportunities for leadership engagement.
- Develop and execute a carrier go-to-market strategy in collaboration with the VP of Business Development, targeting FCC NG911 compliance decision-makers within carrier organizations.
- Maintain deep knowledge of carrier regulatory obligations, FCC compliance timelines, and competitive dynamics to position DATAMARK's LIS solution as the authoritative market answer.
- Monitor carrier industry developments, conference activity, and emerging procurement opportunities to identify and prioritize high-value pipeline targets.
- Represent DATAMARK Technologies at carrier-relevant industry conferences and events, building brand presence and expanding the company's carrier network.
- Record, maintain, and report on business development activity, pipeline progression, and account status using company CRM and reporting standards.
- Collaborate with the DATAMARK leadership team to refine the carrier value proposition, respond to RFPs, and support contract negotiations through close.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in carrier services, telecommunications business development, or carrier-facing sales roles
- Demonstrated existing network within wireline, rural broadband, or local telephone provider organizations, including relationships with operational and compliance-level stakeholders
- Proven ability to navigate hierarchical carrier organizations to identify and engage 911 compliance decision-makers
- Understanding of FCC regulatory requirements, NG911/E911 compliance mandates, and how carriers approach legacy-to-next-gen migration
- Track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and business development targets
- Genuine travel readiness; ability to attend industry conferences, carrier meetings, and events as required
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and professional presence skills
- Ability to manage a complex, long-cycle sales environment with multiple stakeholders and technical buyers
- Preferred: Prior exposure to public safety telecommunications subsets within carrier organizations
- Preferred: Experience selling to rural broadband providers, CLECs, or ILECs
