We’re looking for a commercially driven partnerships leader to spearhead the growth of Alipay CN and Alipay+ in-market. In this role, you will originate and manage strategic partnerships with local acquirers and key accounts, acting as the central orchestrator across regulators, payment networks, and internal teams to bring new initiatives to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary deal originator for inbound Alipay CN and Alipay+ partnerships with local acquirers and key account partners. Develop a deep understanding of partners’ business drivers and barriers, identify new opportunities, and build long-term strategic relationships.
- Serve as a central playmaker in developing and executing business plans with internal and external stakeholders, including central banks, local payment switches, and government agencies.
- Work closely with tech and product teams to define integration requirements, structure partner incentives, and accelerate merchant acquisition and TPV/GMV growth.
- Leverage deep understanding of the local market, industry dynamics, and competitive landscape to formulate and execute in-country strategies aligned with partner needs and management priorities.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to manage partnerships end-to-end, ensuring seamless project execution, continuous improvement of delivery platforms, and full compliance with regulatory and risk requirements.
- Identify high-potential commercial districts and strategically prioritize key areas to build merchant density, strengthen engagement, and maintain strong operational hygiene.
- Lead and manage a team of District Managers, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, strong field execution, and consistent achievement of performance targets.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising and growth teams to drive high-impact performance and innovation in solutions and campaigns for partners.
- Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining accountability and ownership.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to payments, e-commerce, or retail industries; finance and/or technology background is a strong advantage.
- Strong strategic thinking with a global perspective, coupled with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Highly resilient and execution-driven, with a proven ability to operate effectively in volatile, fast-paced environments while maintaining clarity, composure, and consistent performance under pressure.
