Based in Bangkok, the Business Development Manager/Senior Business Development Manager will support Singapore companies in understanding, entering and growing in the Thailand market. The officer will work closely with businesses, industry partners, government agencies and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, provide market insights, and facilitate partnerships between Singapore and Thailand.
This role is suited for candidates with experience in business development, market research, partnerships, consulting, trade promotion, or market entry advisory. Candidates should be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, writing market reports, and working across both public and private sector networks. This is a 2-year contract role, renewable.
The role and responsibilities include:
- Guide Singapore-based companies in expanding their business to Thailand through sound understanding of the business landscape, local regulations and business norms. You will develop a pipeline of prospective deals involving Singapore-based companies and help close them.
- Monitor the business environment and conduct market research to identify and share key growth and investment opportunities. Key interest areas include but are not limited to data centres development, digitalisation (fintech, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence), healthcare and biomedical, and innovation.
- Establish and maintain relationships with public and private sector partners that can support Singapore-based companies with their business plans in Thailand.
- Perform activities necessary to deliver on the responsibilities above, including supporting business development trips and visits by delegations from Singapore, writing of meeting reports, and some data analysis of business leads to better shape future strategies.
Requirements
- Degree with relevant experience in business development, market research, partnerships, consulting, trade promotion, or market entry advisory.
- Strong understanding of Thailand’s business environment, with the ability to analyse market trends, regulations and commercial opportunities.
- Strong written and spoken English and Thai.
- Good stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage companies, agencies and industry partners.
- Independent, resourceful and comfortable working in a small team
- A good command of written and spoken English and Thai.
- Experience in healthcare, biomedical, digital economy, e-commerce, retail, sustainability or innovation sectors would be an advantage
- Prior experience with government agencies, trade associations, chambers, consulting firms, or regional business roles would be an advantage.
