Description of Job
The Division of Adult Parole manages and supervises inmates and parolees 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide public safety and opportunities for re-entry. This role provides comprehensive pre-release re-entry services to offenders currently incarcerated in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct meetings with inmates within six months of release to identify criminogenic needs and review assessments, electronic files, and prior case notes
- Determine resource needs and collaboratively develop transitional release plans
- Monitor, evaluate, and record inmate progress with respect to release plans and adjust as needed
- Conduct interviews and collect information to coordinate effective release planning
- Utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior interventions, and evidence-based practices to enhance motivation for change
- Ensure offenders receive assistance applying for community services that impact parole success
- Maintain a supportive, multidisciplinary network and provide communication, crisis intervention, and grievance resolution
- Document offender contacts, release planning progress, and completed assessments
- Make recommendations to multidisciplinary teams regarding release planning
- Build collaborative relationships with community partners and service providers to maintain exceptional customer service
- Work collaboratively with parole staff to identify stabilization resources for transitioning parolees
- Attend stakeholder meetings to plan, develop, and implement community re-entry initiatives and inmate-focused services
- Complete parole plan investigations for inmates releasing from institutions within established time frames
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of relevant experience working directly with a hard-to-serve, high‑needs client population in a correctional or human services environment, including case planning, risk assessment, community service coordination, and supervision.
- Alternatively, three (3) years of corrections experience, including one (1) year working with a hard‑to‑serve, high‑needs population and involvement in classification, programming, grievance resolution, housing placement, and crisis intervention.
- Education and experience combination equal to three (3) years in a relevant field.
