We are seeking a highly credible and strategic CEO to lead a pioneering business operating across agriculture, natural resources, and sustainable development for our client based in Sabah. The successful candidate will drive business growth, engage key government stakeholders, and position the organization as a leader in innovative land-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and define the company's long-term vision, growth strategy, and business priorities.
  • Lead the commercialization and expansion of agriculture and natural resource-based projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the organization with government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with federal, state, and local stakeholders to support business objectives and project development.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on agronomic and land-based operations, ensuring sustainable and commercially viable outcomes.
  • Drive business development activities, including partnerships, investments, and new growth opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and ESG commitments across the organization.
  • Manage overall business performance, including strategic planning, financial sustainability, and operational execution.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Board on market developments, government relations, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a CEO, Managing Director, Country Manager, COO, or equivalent executive leadership role.
  • Strong background within agriculture, agribusiness, natural resources, mining, environmental, or land-based industries.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; postgraduate qualification or MBA preferred.
  • Solid understanding of agronomy, agricultural operations, or resource development activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government agencies, policymakers, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong network within public sector, industry, and investment communities is highly desirable.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience driving growth, partnerships, and organizational transformation.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Postgraduate in Agriculture, Agronomy, Natural Resources, Engineering, or a related discipline.
