We are currently expanding into China with support from the Hangzhou innovation ecosystem and are looking for a highly operational Country Manager to lead our launch and growth in the region.
Role Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and execution-oriented China Country Manager to build and scale Botmotics operations in China.
This is not a corporate management role.
We are looking for a hands-on operator capable of:
- building local partnerships,
- coordinating suppliers and factories,
- managing government relations,
- launching pilot projects,
- and helping scale robotics and AI solutions for the hospitality sector.
The ideal candidate understands both Chinese and international business cultures and thrives in fast-moving startup environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Execution
- Lead the setup and daily operations of Botmotics China
- Coordinate office setup, local vendors, accounting, and compliance
- Manage relationships with local authorities and innovation parks
Supply Chain & Manufacturing
- Identify and manage robotics and hardware suppliers
- Coordinate OEM/ODM manufacturing partners
- Negotiate pricing, timelines, and production quality
Strategic Partnerships
- Develop relationships with hotels, hospitality groups, and technology partners
- Support pilot deployments and local market expansion
- Identify strategic collaboration opportunities in AI and robotics ecosystems
Team & Market Development
- Support hiring and local team growth
- Help adapt products and solutions for the Chinese market
- Provide strategic insights to headquarters
Requirements
Mandatory
- Native Chinese speaker
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Based in China or willing to relocate to Hangzhou
- Experience in hardware, robotics, IoT, automation, or technology operations
- Strong execution and problem-solving mindset
Highly Valued
- International work experience
- Experience working with European or international companies
- Knowledge of hospitality technology or smart hotel solutions
- Experience with factories, sourcing, or supply chain management
- Startup experience
