Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Client Accountant to join our team on a reduced-hours basis. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and delivering high-quality accounting and financial reporting services. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking flexibility while maintaining an active role in client service and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, maintaining, updating, and finalising accounting records
- Processing accounting information using internal accounting systems
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules
- Preparation of trial balances and reconciliation workings
- Preparation and maintenance of cash books
- Preparation and posting of accounting journals
- Liaising with regulatory and supervisory authorities, including MTCA and MBR
- Assisting senior team members on client deliverables and ad-hoc assignments
Qualifications & Skills
- ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification (or part-qualified with relevant experience).
- Previous experience in client accounting or audit is highly desirable.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
