Seeking an experienced Healthcare Business Analyst / Clinical Coding Specialist to support Medicaid MMIS operations. The role focuses on ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS code maintenance, business analysis, claims processing, and healthcare policy support within a payer environment.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years in healthcare insurance, medical review, appeals, or program integrity
- 5+ years medical coding experience in payer environment
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding methodologies
- Experience working with IT developers/programmers
- Clinical background with strong assessment and analytical skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
- Strong business requirements and process analysis experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred:
- Claims processing systems experience
- Policy remediation experience
- Experience with Optum Encoder or similar coding tools
- Medicaid / Government healthcare background
Education & Certifications:
- BSN or ADN required
- Active South Carolina RN License
- CPC or CCS certification required
