Platform Communications is seeking a Communications Consultant to join our team in North Perth, working across a range of projects in the mining, and energy sectors, including renewables. This full-time, permanent role supports the delivery of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement outcomes for our clients.
THE ROLE
You will support the delivery of strategic communications across a range of projects and clients in the mining, energy and renewables sectors. The role requires someone who is an excellent communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
The role offers variety, where you will manage your own workstreams and contribute to broader projects led by senior team members, while building your experience within a consultancy environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of communication materials including communications plans (internal and external), stakeholder engagement frameworks, briefing notes, websites, brochures, factsheets, capability sheets, EDMs
- Building relationships with clients and project managing jobs, ensuring they run efficiently
- Coordinating digital channels including social media management and websites
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement activities and events
- Supporting the preparation of proposals and business development materials
- Using internal project management systems to manage jobs, timelines and deliverables

ABOUT YOU
You will have experience in a communications, PR, marketing or related role, and be confident working across multiple projects and stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in public relations / marketing / journalism or equivalent working experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to understand and translate complex information into clear messaging
- Demonstrated advanced capability using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Copilot
- Exceptional organisational skills managing multiple tasks, competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience across digital tools and channels including social media, websites, SharePoint, and project management systems
- Experience supporting or delivering communications and stakeholder engagement plans, and preparing collateral
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in a client-facing role
- Exposure to government, mining, infrastructure or community engagement projects
- Valid ‘C’ class Drivers Licence
