A growing defense technology company is hiring a Compliance Specialist to keep the business compliant across federal contracting, export control, and import regulations as it scales.

You'll be the person who keeps the company audit-ready and on the right side of a complex regulatory environment.

What you'll do

  • Support compliance with export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR
  • Manage federal import and licensing requirements for regulated defense articles
  • Maintain federal licenses and registrations, keeping all classifications current
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and federal contracting regulations
  • Support cybersecurity compliance frameworks including NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC
  • Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Conduct internal compliance reviews and risk assessments
  • Support external audits from agencies such as DCAA and DCMA, and track corrective actions
  • Deliver employee training on ethics, export controls, and government contracting compliance
  • Assist investigations into potential compliance or ethics concerns

What you'll need

  • 3+ years in compliance and government contracting, in aerospace or defense
  • Bachelor's in Business, Law, Compliance, Finance, or related field
  • SME-level knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and federal contracting requirements
  • Strong audit-preparation, documentation, and regulatory-interpretation skills

Nice to have

  • Federal import/licensing compliance experience
  • CCEP, CIA, or CISSP certification
  • NIST 800-171 / CMMC experience

Work requirements

  • Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. security clearance may be required
  • Valid U.S. passport for occasional domestic or international travel

Compensation and benefits

Base salary $80,000–$100,000, plus a full benefits package: medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), life insurance, and paid time off.
