Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Worker role based in Sutherland. The Construction Worker will assist with building, repairing, and maintaining municipal infrastructure such as public buildings, pavements, and basic facilities. Daily tasks include preparing construction sites, mixing and placing concrete, assisting with masonry, flooring, and renovation work, and operating basic hand and power tools under supervision. The role involves following construction plans, adhering to safety procedures, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Construction Worker will collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule and to required quality standards.
Qualifications

  • Practical experience in Construction, including general site work and basic building tasks.
  • Skills in Masonry for bricklaying, block work, and related structural tasks.
  • Experience with Flooring installation or repair on concrete, tile, or similar surfaces.
  • Exposure to Renovation work, including repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of existing structures.
  • Ability to follow instructions, read basic drawings or measurements, and complete tasks safely and accurately.
  • Commitment to occupational health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and working outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Previous experience on construction or municipal projects preferred; relevant vocational training or certification is an advantage.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
