Responsibilities:
Responsible for government relations, stakeholder engagement, and corporate communications, with additional support in CSR. The role focuses on managing external stakeholders, influencing regulatory developments, and protecting the company’s reputation in the FMCG sector.
You are on a journey to join an exciting Company and be part of our success story. Here we will equip you with the know-how and experience that will define your growth. In this role that you are about to embark on, you are required to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Lead government relations and stakeholder engagement (e.g. MITI, FMM, industry groups).
- Manage and influence regulatory and policy matters impacting FMCG (labelling, packaging, food safety).
- Handle corporate communications and media relations, including crisis management.
- Align local communications with regional/global strategy.
- Support CSR and sustainability initiatives (smaller scope).
- Highly external-facing role requiring strong stakeholder management and understanding of Malaysia’s regulatory landscape.
To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate affairs, communications, public policy or public relations, preferably within the FMCG, consumer goods, or retail sectors in Malaysia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certifications in Corporate Communications, PR, or Public Affairs would be an advantage.
- Strong media relations and crisis communication experience.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leadership, government officials, media, and other external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital media, social media platforms, and online brand management.
