About the Opportunity
We are supporting an international animal welfare organization in the search for a Country Director based in Vietnam.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for leading the organization's operations, programs, stakeholder engagement, and overall country strategy. The role reports to global leadership and plays a key role in driving impact, strengthening government partnerships, and ensuring sustainable organizational growth in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight for the organization's programs, operations, facilities, and teams in Vietnam.
- Drive the implementation of country strategies and ensure alignment with global priorities.
- Lead organizational planning, risk management, governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, academic institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at high-level meetings, policy forums, conferences, and external engagements.
- Oversee budgeting, financial stewardship, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Lead and support organizational change, team development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience within NGOs, nonprofits, conservation, development, social impact, or related sectors.
- Proven experience managing country operations, multidisciplinary teams, and complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong exposure to government relations, public affairs, policy engagement, or external affairs.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance, risk management, and budget oversight.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and build trusted relationships with government authorities.
- Fluent Vietnamese and English.
