Role Description The Country Director at Nile Base is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role oversees all country operations, including strategic planning, business development, and day-to-day management of local teams and resources. The Country Director is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships with clients, distributors, and partners in the networking and connectivity sector. This position coordinates cross-functional activities such as marketing initiatives, operational processes, and customer support to ensure alignment with global company objectives. The Country Director also manages budgets, ensures compliance with local regulations, and provides regular performance reporting to regional and global leadership.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in country or regional leadership, with responsibility for strategy, operations, and team management.
- Strong background in networking, telecommunications, or related technology sectors, preferably with experience in OEM or hardware products.
- Proven track record in business development, sales, and partnership management within B2B environments.
- Solid financial and analytical skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to represent the company to clients, partners, and regulators.
- Ability to build, lead, and mentor diverse teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on execution.
- Knowledge of the Tanzanian market and regulatory landscape; experience working in East Africa is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is an added benefit.
- Willingness to work on-site in Dar es Salaam and travel domestically or regionally as needed.
