Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customs Supervisor to manage daily customs operations, ensure compliance with international trade regulations, and supervise customs clearance staff. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of import/export procedures, tariff classifications, and customs documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate customs clearance activities for imports and exports.
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, trade regulations, and company policies.
- Review shipping documents including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Manage tariff classification and customs valuation processes.
- Liaise with customs authorities, brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
- Monitor shipments to avoid delays, penalties, or compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate customs records and audit documentation.
- Train and support customs staff on regulatory updates and operational procedures.
- Resolve customs disputes, inspections, and clearance problems.
- Prepare reports on customs activities, KPIs, and compliance performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in customs operations or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Experience with customs software and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Customs broker certification or trade compliance certification is a plus.
