Role Description The Data Center Engineer will oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of mission-critical data center infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and uptime. Responsibilities include installing and configuring server and storage hardware, managing cabling and connectivity, and supporting power, cooling, and physical security standards. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and network issues, providing technical support to internal teams and clients, and coordinating with vendors for escalations when needed. The engineer will document configurations and procedures, follow change management processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of data center operations and best practices. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Tripoli, with a mix of on-site data center work and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications

  • Strong data center operations skills, including monitoring, capacity management, and adherence to uptime and SLA requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure such as servers, storage systems, racks, power, cooling, and physical security controls.
  • Proficiency in cabling best practices, including structured cabling, labeling, and cable management for fiber and copper connections.
  • Solid troubleshooting and technical support skills for hardware, operating systems, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise hardware platforms (e.g., Lenovo ThinkSystem or similar) and familiarity with virtualization and storage technologies.
  • Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, implementation plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Relevant technical certification or diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field; vendor or data center certifications are a plus.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with onsite and remote stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model based in Tripoli and to participate in on-call or after-hours support as required.
