🎯 The Role
We are seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and practices across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, technology teams, and compliance functions to ensure data is accurate, secure, accessible, and effectively managed throughout its lifecycle.
🚀 What You'll Do
- Develop and implement enterprise data governance strategies, frameworks, policies, and standards
- Establish data ownership, stewardship models, and governance operating structures
- Define and improve data quality management processes, controls, and measurement frameworks
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to establish data standards and accountability
- Manage data governance initiatives, roadmaps, and improvement programs
- Develop policies for data classification, metadata management, access controls, and data lifecycle management
- Monitor data quality metrics, governance KPIs, and compliance requirements
- Support data privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives
- Partner with analytics, engineering, security, and business teams to improve data reliability and usability
- Establish data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and governance documentation
- Facilitate governance councils, stakeholder meetings, and data awareness programs
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes, automation, and operational efficiency
- Stay informed about emerging data governance practices, technologies, and regulatory developments
✅ What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
- 6–10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, analytics, or related roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks and operating models
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, metadata, data quality, and data standards
- Experience working with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of data risk, compliance, and information management principles
- Ability to manage complex programs and influence stakeholders across the organization
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with data governance, analytics, and reporting tools
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, Data Governance Professional, or equivalent
- Experience with frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, COBIT, or similar methodologies
- Familiarity with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools
- Experience with data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of data architecture, cloud data platforms, and enterprise analytics environments
- Experience supporting digital transformation, AI, or data modernization initiatives
- Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, government, or telecommunications
- Knowledge of Middle East data regulations and business environments is an advantage
