JOB SUMMARY

Drive specific workstreams for private markets investment activities, including screening, due diligence, and execution, while supporting deal origination and stakeholder engagement. This includes proactive collaborations with stakeholders on performance monitoring and value enhancement, executing analytical and strategy-related tasks in investment execution and performance monitoring, as well as overseeing junior team members to support delivery and capability development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive specific workstream in due diligence exercise for prospective investments, outlining scoping coverage and ensuring transactions are in line with approved investment mandates.
  • Develop and review financial models and valuations, challenging key assumptions, projections and forecasts provided by third parties to support data-driven investment decisions.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendation papers on prospective investments or corporate initiatives to senior management and the investment committee after thorough evaluation.
  • Support in structuring optimised participation terms for EPF, particularly for direct investments, ensuring alignment with ESG policies and Shariah compliance requirements where applicable.
  • Support the closing and signing of definitive documentation, coordinating with Legal, Compliance and Risk Management to ensure all approvals and controls are in place
  • Conduct comprehensive market and feasibility studies to assess investment viability, identifying potential accounting and business complexities.
  • Identify strategic initiatives to annual business plans and following through on value creation activities identified during the investment process.
  • Supervise and review work performed by junior analysts, providing guidance on financial modelling, qualitative analysis, and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pass in Bahasa Melayu, including the oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution
  • Professional qualification such as CFA, CA, CPA, etc is an added advantage
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in private equity, investment banking, infrastructure investing, merger & acquisition (M&A) in operating companies or corporate finance
  • Strong experience in financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring with exposure to direct investments, co-investments, fund-of-funds or M&A activities are preferred
  • Domestic and regional (Southeast Asia / Asia Pacific) deal experience is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and negotiation skills in managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled in writing and presentations
  • Ability to manage multipole workstreams and deliver under pressure
