In this role, you will provide customer information and assistance related to the development process, including planning, building, zoning, code enforcement, drainage review, and maintaining records using the County’s automated permitting system and computerized geographic information system.

*** Two years of experience providing customer service in a construction environment or evaluating site plans, building construction plans, and related documents
* High school diploma or GED
* Post-secondary education in Urban Planning or a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
** Other Requirements
** Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire.

*** Two years of experience in land development or related fields
* Technical and/or customer support experience, preferably in a private development or municipal permitting process
* Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of documents, including complex construction and engineering civil or site plans, base maps, aerial photographs, applicable policies, and procedures
* Understanding of land surveying principles and legal descriptions (Plats/Deeds)
* Permit Technician Certification
* Experience operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software, including Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam Revu, etc., for processing permit activity and communications
** Job Contributions
*** Create address numbers using analytical and mathematical procedures in accordance with the grid systems and the Addressing Policy
* Assist developers and the public at the counter or over the phone by explaining the review of civil or site plans, subdivision plats, recorded surveys, easements, legal descriptions, and deeds to assign unique residential and commercial addresses
* Prepare and send notifications for address assignments, updates, and changes to internal and external users
* Maintain historic resource map files and permit databases
* Serve as a primary liaison with emergency service providers and other County departments to resolve issues. Conduct research to identify and fix addressing problems and errors
* Respond to addressing inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally
* Prepare communications with internal and external customers regarding street names/addresses and work
