As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Administration will oversee and optimize critical business functions across Accounting, Recruiting, and Human Resources. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning administrative strategies with organizational objectives. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, strengthen internal processes, and support sustainable growth through effective workforce and financial management. Accountabilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Accounting, Recruiting, and Human Resources functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve administrative policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, payroll operations, accounts payable and receivable processes, contract billing activities, and audit coordination while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Oversee talent acquisition strategies, workforce planning initiatives, recruiting operations, applicant tracking systems, candidate pipelines, and onboarding processes to support organizational growth.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators across recruiting, HR, and accounting functions to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Direct employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, organizational development initiatives, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, financial requirements, payroll tax obligations, worker classification standards, and multi-state labor laws.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to identify operational risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple business functions, departments, or cross-functional teams in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources regulations and compliance requirements, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, benefits administration, employee relations, and workforce planning.
  • Proven experience overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll administration, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated success leading talent acquisition programs, high-volume recruiting operations, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Expertise in multi-state employment compliance, including wage and hour regulations, paid leave requirements, payroll tax obligations, workers’ compensation, and employee classification standards.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and financial management systems.
  • Government contracting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Strong capability in policy development, process standardization, change management, and cross-functional collaboration.
