A fast-growing AI and data consulting firm is hiring a Business Development Director to lead Federal growth initiatives across the US Government market.

The company specializes in delivering enterprise AI, data engineering, and operational transformation programs in complex, mission-critical environments. They are looking for a highly driven, outbound-focused sales leader who understands consultative enterprise selling and can build pipeline within the Federal ecosystem, particularly among organizations investing in modern AI and enterprise data platforms.

This is a strategic growth role focused on generating and closing new business opportunities across the US Federal Government. The ideal candidate is a proven hunter with experience selling enterprise technology services, software engineering consulting, or AI/data transformation solutions into complex government environments.

Responsibilities of the Director of BD:

  • Drive outbound sales efforts targeting Federal agencies and strategic public sector accounts
  • Develop territory and account strategies aligned to ideal customer profiles
  • Identify expansion opportunities within organizations already investing in modern data and AI platforms
  • Lead high-touch discovery conversations with senior government stakeholders
  • Translate operational and technical challenges into scalable AI and data solutions
  • Manage opportunities through the full lifecycle, including procurement and RFP processes
  • Leverage and expand an existing network within the Federal ecosystem
  • Build trusted relationships with agency leaders, program stakeholders, and industry partners
  • Support strategic positioning within the broader enterprise AI and data ecosystem

Requirements of the Director of BD:

  • 7+ years of public sector business development or enterprise sales experience
  • Strong track record of outbound pipeline generation and quota achievement
  • Experience selling: enterprise software, consulting services, AI/data platforms, digital transformation programs
  • Ability to navigate complex buying groups and long enterprise sales cycles
  • Experience engaging senior government stakeholders
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Existing Federal or industry network preferred
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI, data engineering, or operational analytics platforms is highly desirable

This role is fully remote within the US. The team are offering $200,000 on the base as well as a lucrative commission plan.
