The Opportunity

We have pipeline. We have relationships. We have a founder who knows this market, has the credibility to open doors, and will be in the room with you. What we need is someone to own the sales function — to take what exists, drive it to close, and then build on top of it.

You will work directly with the Founder & CEO, with full visibility into active opportunities, existing relationships, and the firm's growth strategy. There is a real pipeline, a strong brand in a focused market, and everything you need to succeed from day one — if you are the kind of person who knows how to take it and run.

If you need large infrastructure to function, this is not the right role. If you thrive on ownership, work well independently, and know how the government buys, this is one of the better opportunities in the market right now.

What You'll Do

— Take ownership of Avèro's active pipeline — understand where each opportunity stands and drive it toward close

— Prospect independently to expand the pipeline beyond what already exists — you generate your own opportunities

— Develop and deepen relationships with government buyers: CAOs, CFOs, CIOs, procurement officials, and department directors

— Represent Avèro at government technology conferences, association events, and procurement forums (ICMA, GFOA, NACo, and similar)

— Qualify inbound inquiries and convert referrals into active engagements

— Collaborate with the delivery team to scope engagements and develop winning proposals

— Track market intelligence — upcoming RFPs, agency modernization plans, budget cycles, and procurement vehicles

— Shape how Avèro's sales function grows — you are building it as you run it

What We're Looking For

Required

— 5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in enterprise ERP, financial systems, or technology consulting sold to state and local government

— Proven track record closing deals in the SLED market — you understand fund accounting, government procurement cycles, and how decisions actually get made

— Existing relationships with government buyers who will take your call on day one

— Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and close without relying on a support team — you have done this before and you are good at it

— Consultative sales approach — you diagnose before you pitch, and clients trust you for it

— Willingness to travel for in-person relationship development

Preferred

— Background with Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Tyler Technologies, Workday, or similar government ERP platforms

— Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles (NASPO, Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners)

— Active presence in government professional associations — ICMA, GFOA, NACo, or similar

— Prior experience at a boutique firm, independent advisory, or VAR where you operated without a large support structure and thrived

Compensation

— Simple and transparent. Your base provides stability; your commission reflects exactly what you produce. No tiers, no complex math, no cap. Close the business, get paid well for it.

— Base Salary: $105,000 – $110,000 Commission: 3-6% of closed contract value, uncapped

To give you a sense of the upside: at $1M closed you are at $165K–$170K total. At $2M you are at $225K–$230K. There is no ceiling.

— Health, dental, and vision coverage and 401(k) included. You will work directly with the CEO — no layers between you and decisions.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

105,000 – 110,000 USD per year(USA)
