LOCATION: CHICAGO, IL (DOWNTOWN)

JOB TYPE: IN-OFFICE, FULL-TIME

Company Overview: With 25+ consultants, over $6 billion in advised, transacted, and managed real estate and infrastructure projects since 2013, 1000+ engagements, 120+ global clients, and 30+ public agency relationships across 50+ U.S. and Canadian MSAs — DEODATE has built one of the most credentialed boutique real estate advisory platforms in the country. Its client roster spans four continents and includes BlackRock, Bank of America, Maersk, LACCD, the Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Airports, Grifols, Woodforest National Bank, Parking Company of America, the State of California DGS, the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, Caltrans, Metro Foothill Gold Line, and dozens of additional corporate, government, and institutional clients.

DEODATE is a fee-only real estate advisory and execution firm operating across five divisions: Valuation, Construction and Project Management, Strategic Advisory, Government and Corporate Real Estate, and Portfolio Optimization. We are not a brokerage — we earn no commissions and have no financial interest in any transaction. We are not a strategy consultant — we don't deliver a report and leave. We are technical experts who advise and execute across the full real estate lifecycle. The person who pitches is the person who works

WHO YOU ARE: This is a highly entrepreneurial leadership role. The Director, Strategy and Execution – Midwest will be responsible for establishing, growing, and operating DEODATE’s Chicago office from the ground up. The successful candidate will function as both a senior practitioner and a market-facing business development leader, accountable for client origination, engagement delivery, and the operational buildout of the Midwest practice.

You will be managing 1-2 DEODATE associates already employed by DEODATE and working on Midwestern clients to help launch the effort.

This position is best suited for a self-directed professional who thrives in ambiguous, high-growth environments and who has the commercial instincts and consulting discipline to build a regional practice with institutional-quality standards. The role requires demonstrated experience in the Chicago commercial real estate and corporate advisory market.

  • Entrepreneurial and Market-Oriented: You are energized by building. You identify opportunities, convert relationships into engagements, and are comfortable operating in an environment where structure must be created, not inherited.
  • Analytically Rigorous: You think precisely, develop defensible solutions to complex challenges, and are deeply fluent in financial modeling, market analysis, and Excel-based quantitative work.
  •  Institutionally Credible: You communicate clearly and authoritatively, in writing and in person, with C-Suite executives, investment committees, public agency leadership, and senior legal and finance teams.
  • Organized and Decisive: You manage multiple client engagements and internal priorities simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Self-Starter: You are intellectually curious, goal-oriented, and energized by solving complex problems. You do not require close supervision to produce decision-grade output.
  • Collaborative: You work effectively with DEODATE’s national team, including consultants, marketing, finance, and legal resources, to deliver integrated client solutions.
