Geo-Jade Petroleum – South Basra Integrated Project (SBIPRO) is seeking an experienced ( Iraqi Candidate ) Employee Relations Specialist with 10 years solid Oil & Gas experience . This role works with Human resources on Daily basis based in Basra Iraq.
JOB OBJECTIVE :
To effectively manage and resolve employee conflicts, strengthen HR administration practices, and foster strong, trust-based relationships between the Company and its employees through clear and effective communication. The role aims to ensure fair and consistent disciplinary management, maintain a harmonious and compliant workplace, and act as the Company’s liaison with governmental authorities—including labor departments, labor inspection offices, police, courts, and other relevant agencies—to address and resolve employee-related issues in a timely and lawful manner.
Description
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
- Proactively manage and resolve employee relations issues, grievances, and workplace conflicts in a fair, timely, and confidential manner.
- Conduct interviews with employees to gather information on attitudes toward the work environment, supervision, and management practices to facilitate effective resolution of employee relations matters.
- Gather and analyze feedback on factors affecting employee morale, motivation, engagement, and productivity, and recommend improvement actions.
Disciplinary Management
- Investigate complaints from departments regarding employee absenteeism, misconduct, or performance-related issues.
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution

Disciplinary Management
- Investigate complaints from departments regarding employee absenteeism, misconduct, or performance-related issues.
- Ensure disciplinary actions are conducted in accordance with Company disciplinary procedures, internal policies, and applicable Iraqi Labor Law.
- Prepare and issue disciplinary notices, including warning letters and termination letters, ensuring procedural fairness and proper documentation.
- Follow up with employees to assess reactions to disciplinary or corrective actions taken and evaluate their effectiveness.
Policy Communication & Compliance
- Clearly explain Company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to employees, emphasizing compliance and understanding.
- Support the consistent application of HR policies across departments and provide guidance to employees and managers on employee relations matters.
- Promote awareness of employee rights and obligations under Company policies and local labor regulations.
Management Advisory & Coordination
- Meet with management and department heads to discuss employee relations issues, investigation outcomes, and recommended corrective or preventive actions.
- Advise management on appropriate employee relations strategies to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on sensitive employee-related matters.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare clear and accurate reports summarizing employee feedback, investigation findings, disciplinary actions, and follow-up results.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date employee relations records in accordance with Company standards and legal requirements.
Government & External Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact with governmental authorities such as the Labor Department, Labor Inspection Office, police, courts, and other relevant agencies on employee-related matters.
- Coordinate inspections, inquiries, and legal processes, and support the resolution of labor disputes or compliance issues in line with Iraqi laws and regulations.
Other tasks assigned by department head or line manager.
