This casual position for an Environmental Health Officer revolves around maintaining high public health standards within diverse communities. The role entails investigative inspections, enforcing regulations, and facilitating community capacity building. You will engage with various stakeholders to advocate for effective health policies while conducting food safety inspections and assessing environmental hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate public health complaints and enforce compliance
• Conduct inspections on food processing and other facilities
• Perform water quality assessments and pollution control
• Initiate health assessments during communicable disease outbreaks
• Facilitate community health education and engagement
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Health or equivalent
• Public Health Inspection certificate required
• Valid BC Class V Driver’s License
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
