ATT manages the full event transportation lifecycle from RFP and planning through on-site command and post-event close-out, including event shuttle programs, parking and traffic management, airport meet-and-greet, employee and crew shuttles, VIP and host-hotel coordination, and rapid-deployment transportation for time-sensitive and high-demand situations.
Role Description
The Event Transportation Director leads ATT's event-driven ground transportation programs from end to end. This role is accountable for the strategic planning, production design, on-site execution, and post-event close-out of transportation services for conventions, sporting events, festivals, corporate programs, host-hotel and shuttle operations, and rapid-deployment activations nationwide. The Director owns the full event lifecycle: pre-event planning and run-of-show design, vendor and venue coordination, credentialing and permitting, on-site command, real-time response, and after-action reporting. Between active deployments, the role is forward-facing — pursuing strategic event accounts, building relationships with event producers, venue operators, host committees, and convention bureaus, and developing scalable program infrastructure that allows ATT to compete and win in any market. Heavy domestic travel is required, including pre-event site surveys, on-site event leadership, and rapid-deployment activations.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience directly in the passenger transportation industry, ground transportation operations, or event-based transportation logistics, with at least 2 years in a director or senior leadership capacity (trucking, freight, or LTL experience alone does not qualify)
- Direct, hands-on event management experience leading transportation programs for live events at scale — including pre-event production planning, run-of-show design, on-site command, and post-event close-out
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous events or transportation programs with overlapping production cycles
- Proven ability to build and manage client relationships at senior levels, including C-suite, executive-producer, host-committee, and institutional stakeholders
- Working knowledge of event credentialing, permitting, certificates of insurance, and venue-access protocols
- Experience with quoting, rate negotiation, and bid preparation for transportation service contracts and event programs
- Strong understanding of ground transportation operations including scheduling, dispatch, vehicle coordination, hours of service regulations, driver management, and affiliate oversight
- People management experience covering on-site staff, drivers, and dispatchers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Excel-based reporting, budgeting, and scheduling tools
- Familiarity with livery or transportation management software platforms used for dispatch, scheduling, and client operations
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically on a regular basis, including extended periods during pre-event site surveys, major deployments, and event activations
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in event transportation services, destination management companies, convention logistics, festival or sports operations, or large-scale public-assembly events
- Industry credentials such as CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), CSEP (Certified Special Events Professional), CEM (Certified in Exhibition Management), or CMM (Certificate in Meeting Management)
- Active participation in industry associations such as MPI, ILEA, IAVM, IAEE, ESCA, PCMA, or NACDA, with a demonstrated ability to translate relationships into business development outcomes
- Experience with major event types — Super Bowl, NCAA championships, NBA/NHL Finals, F1, NASCAR, presidential nominating conventions, large music festivals, or international entertainment tours
- Experience working in or alongside Tier-1 convention centers (LVCC, McCormick Place, Javits, Moscone, Orange County, KBHCC, GRBCC, OCCC)
- Background in healthcare transportation, hospital shuttle programs, or medically adjacent service environments
- Exposure to crisis-response or rapid-deployment transportation logistics
- ICS / NIMS familiarity or experience working under unified command with public safety partners
- Familiarity with RFP and procurement processes in institutional, corporate, or government-adjacent settings
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools
- Comfort with AI tools as productivity aids for research, drafting, and organizing information
- Background in airline ground operations, airport transportation services, or FBO-related logistics
- Based in or willing to relocate to a state where ATT maintains an entity (Texas, Florida, Washington D.C., Illinois, or Nevada)
