Role Description The Executive role at CICC is a contract position based in Cascais, Portugal, with a hybrid work model that allows for a combination of on-site and work-from-home arrangements. The Executive will support the planning and execution of international trade missions, business conferences, and sector-focused events, coordinating logistics and liaising with members, partners, and government representatives. Daily responsibilities include managing stakeholder communications, preparing reports and presentations, maintaining membership records, and following up on international projects and business initiatives. The role also involves contributing to business development activities, identifying potential partners or sectors of interest, and supporting investment promotion efforts. The Executive is expected to collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to ensure that activities align with CICC’s strategic goals.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in business administration and project coordination, with the ability to manage multiple international initiatives and deadlines.
  • Experience in international trade, investment promotion, or economic development, ideally involving cross-border projects or public–private partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages, especially Portuguese, is an advantage.
  • Competence in stakeholder management and networking, including working with government entities, chambers of commerce, and private-sector organizations.
  • Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., office suites, online conferencing platforms, CRM or membership management systems).
  • Strong analytical and research abilities to assess business sectors of interest and prepare concise reports and briefings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, showing initiative, accountability, and flexibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Economics, or a related field; relevant postgraduate studies or certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience in event organization, trade missions, or international conferences is highly beneficial.
