Your new role

This is a busy and hands-on Executive Assistant role supporting a highly engaged Executive Director during a period of increased workload. You’ll play a critical role in keeping the office running smoothly, managing competing priorities and acting as a trusted point of support.

You’ll be someone who is exceptionally organised, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure while dealing with a wide range of senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-level, proactive executive support to the Executive Director
  • Managing a complex and constantly changing diary and priorities
  • Drafting briefings, correspondence and responses for review
  • Coordinating meetings, papers, agendas and follow‑up actions
  • Acting as a key contact for internal stakeholders and board-level contacts
  • Building strong relationships across multiple teams and senior levels
  • Tracking actions, deadlines and deliverables to keep everything on course
  • Anticipating issues and offering practical solutions before problems arise

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience supporting a senior executive (Executive Director or equivalent)
  • Exceptional organisation skills, you’re naturally structured and detail-focused
  • Strong initiative and the confidence to work proactively with minimal direction
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads and competing deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across varying seniority levels
  • High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in government or large, complex organisations is highly regarded
