Your contribution
The Executive Manager role is critical in supporting the IGEM, the Director, Governance and Reporting (G&R) and the broader Office to lead the delivery of corporate and strategic functions that ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
As the Executive Manager, you will work closely with the Director, G&R and key internal & external agency partners to inform, develop and maintain operational systems and processes.
You will proactively coordinate the delivery of financial, human resources, audit and risk, information and technology and strategic and operational performance and planning to provide high quality, timely advisory services and reports to senior management and Government.
You will demonstrate knowledge of Queensland Government's Performance Management Framework, state disaster management environment and the functions of the Office.
Your responsibilities
As The Executive Manager You Will
- Proactively lead and coordinate governance and corporate services matters for the Office, including the functions of internal and strategic governance across audit, performance and risk management, finance, human resources and ICT.
- Undertake research and analysis, and contribute to effective policy, governance, performance management and planning frameworks, systems and processes for the Office.
- Oversee the budget process including coordination of Budget Submissions, annual Budget, Forward Estimates updates and end of financial year processes.
- Ensure effective management and monitoring of the Office's budget and expenditure in accordance with government priorities and agency policies and procedures.
- Present monthly reports to the Director, G&R on finance, human resources and other business services activities and provide advice on an ongoing basis.
- Lead a small, effective team coordinating business services across the Office. Oversee the provision of advice and support in relation to asset management, information technology and records management, conducting research and investigations to implement solutions which enhance business outcomes and ensure efficient day to day operations are in accordance with governance requirements.
- Analyse, report and resolve a range of human resource issues through the implementation of solutions and strategies that meet the needs of the Office with an emphasis on continuous improvement and providing strategic advice to the Senior Leaders to ensure service delivery is achieved.
- Achieve Corporate Governance deliverables in consultation with QPS Corporate Services including performance and risk requirements, preparation of budget papers and Estimates Briefs.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and support staff to achieve activities across the Office.
- Lead a workplace culture based on values and behaviours which maintain a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive and that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively contributes to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
