Finance Manager (Manila) – Financial Control
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our Manila shared services function. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with global stakeholders.
This position will lead the local Finance team and play a key role in statutory reporting, cash and AP management, and continuous improvement of finance processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Prepare management accounts and support reporting requirements for global stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements in the Philippines
- Coordinate statutory filings and requirements with government agencies (e.g., SEC, BIR, PEZA, LGU)
- Support external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit requirements
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local tax regulations
- Oversee accurate and timely filing of tax returns
- Manage queries and coordination with tax authorities as needed
Financial Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls across finance operations
- Review and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Support risk identification and mitigation initiatives within the function
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights to support decision-making
- Partner with business leaders on financial planning and performance management.
Cash & P&L Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements
- Oversee cost control and financial performance of the entity
- Handle invoicing and intercompany reporting to head office
Shared Services & Process Improvement
- Support transition and execution of offshore finance processes
- Ensure adherence to best practices in shared services delivery
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within finance operations
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop the Manila Finance team (5–10 members)
- Collaborate with global finance, treasury, and compliance stakeholders
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on financial performance and risks
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture
Governance & Other Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and internal policies
- Support ESG, DE&I, and employee engagement initiatives
- Contribute to broader business objectives and continuous improvement culture
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably with exposure to Philippine regulatory compliance (SEC, BIR, PEZA)
- 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong background in financial reporting, audit, and tax compliance
- Experience in shared services or multinational environment is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulatory requirements, and reporting standards
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA (Philippines) preferred; additional certifications (CMA, ACCA, CFA) an advantage
