The Company
My client is a leading insurance broker looking for a technically-savvy analyst to join our finance team. Unlike traditional finance roles, they are looking for a candidate with a strong data and MIS mindset who thrives on automating reports, cleaning large datasets, and turning raw data into actionable business insights. You will be the bridge between our finance operations and our data systems, using tools like Alteryx to drive efficiency.
The Role
- Data Management & Automation (MIS):Design, build, and maintain automated workflows in Alteryx to consolidate premium data, commission statements, and claims data from multiple insurer/broker systems.
- Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly Management Information (MI) dashboards for senior leadership, tracking Gross Written Premium (GWP), loss ratios, and broker commission performance.
- Data Reconciliation:Perform complex data matching and reconciliation between broking systems, general ledgers, and external insurer statements to ensure financial accuracy.
- Insights & Analysis:Go beyond the numbers-analyze trends in policy data to identify anomalies, profitability drivers, and operational inefficiencies.
- Process Improvement:Continuously review existing reporting processes and identify opportunities to replace manual Excel tasks with scalable automated solutions (Alteryx/Power Query).
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Partner with Operations, Underwriting, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
Your Profile
- Experience:2-5 years in a data-heavy analytical role (Finance, Insurance, Consulting, or Tech).
- Data Mindset:A strong "nose" for data-you notice when numbers don't tie out and enjoy the detective work of fixing data quality issues.
- Communication:Ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders (brokers/executives).
- Good command in Cantonese and English
