Position: Fire Inspector Role

Under the supervision of the Risk Reduction Officer, this 6-month position involves technical inspections, enforcement actions, and cause-origin investigations. You will conduct inspections to identify fire hazards, monitor compliance with Fire Department Bylaws, and oversee the installation of essential safety systems. This role is instrumental in maintaining community safety and ensuring adherence to national regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of structures to identify fire hazards
• Issue corrective notices and enforce compliance with legislation
• Supervise underground tank installations and removals
• Enter inspection data into official software systems
• Prepare evidence and testify in courts or appeal hearings
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Fire Inspector Level I and II (NFPA 1031)
• Four years of experience in bylaws enforcement
• Certified in Hazardous Material Awareness (NFPA 472)
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence
